Retain

The overall goal of the RETAIN project (Project No. 2013-3260/001-001) is to create and develop an inclusive and creative school environment.

The presence of qualified teachers and school administrators is a prerequisite for children and adolescents to acquire the basic skills necessary to succeed in today's society.

Unfortunately, many young teachers struggle to transition to work after being trained as school teachers. A study of around 25 schools in Europe as part of the RETAIN project found that new teachers had differing expectations from the teaching profession, and quit their work due to administrative, internal or other difficulties. They also had lowered interest in external relations or the teaching profession itself.

To address this situation, the RETAIN project hopes to foster an inclusive and creative work environment in schools where students, different generations of teachers, administrators, parents and the outside world can collaborate effectively and comprehensively.

The specific goal of these projects is to develop, test and propose tools, methodologies, advice and toolboxes to help school administrators and young or experienced teachers create an inclusive and creative work environment.
